To bolster local ecological protection and green sustainable development in Laos, Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group (“YRPG” or "the Group") recently hosted a public welfare tree-planting event at the boat-fruited sterculia plantation base in Pakse, Champasak Province, Laos. Relevant officials and corporate representatives from China and Laos, alongside local residents, took part in the activity. Over 1,000 saplings of various varieties were planted on site. Through this joint ecological initiative, the Group advances the green development of “the Belt and Road (B&R)” Initiative and further consolidates the long-standing friendship between China and Laos.

The tree-planting site buzzed with vitality. All participants collaborated seamlessly with high spirits, shoveling earth, mounding soil around saplings and carrying water for irrigation, planting over 500 boat-fruited sterculia saplings and another 500 ecological tree varieties in total. YRPG has long adhered to the development tenet of putting ecology first and pursuing green growth. While constructing overseas Chinese medicinal herb planting bases and scaling up its medicinal herb business, the Group places high priority on the protection of local ecological environment. The newly planted sterculia saplings will further expand the cultivation scale of the base, improve the Group’s quality traceability system for Chinese medicinal materials, boost local agricultural economy through industrial vitality, and raise income for local villagers.

To actively respond to the Lao government’s call for ecological protection and fulfill its corporate social responsibility, the Group donated over 1,000 saplings adapted to local climate and capable of windbreak and sand fixation to the local community during the event for shelterbelt construction. These saplings will effectively improve the regional ecological environment, prevent soil erosion, and bring Chinese corporate support to the ecological barrier development of Champasak Province. This initiative vividly embodies YRPG’s overseas development philosophy of "Ecological Cultivation, Harmonious Development", enabling positive interaction between industrial cultivation and ecological conservation.
The event received high attention and strong support from officials at all levels of China and Laos. Relevant leaders from the Champasak Provincial Party Committee of Laos attended the site and delivered speeches. They highly commended YRPG for its local investment, industrial development and active fulfillment of corporate social responsibility, and fully recognized the Group’s contributions to advancing Laos’ medicinal herb industry, creating local jobs and improving people’s livelihoods. The officials also looked forward to deeper pragmatic cooperation between both sides to jointly write a new chapter in building the China-Laos Community with a Shared Future.
This cross-border tree-planting campaign stands not merely as an ecological conservation initiative, but also a vivid testament to the profound long-standing friendship between China and Laos in the new era. Large-scale afforestation has improved local ecological conditions and boosted green development, while further consolidating the construction of overseas medicinal herb planting bases and fueling the Group's global strategy for medicinal raw material deployment. Meanwhile, the event has built a bridge for people-to-people exchanges, deepening mutual understanding and emotional bonds between the two peoples, and setting an exemplary benchmark for Chinese enterprises "going global" to fulfill social responsibilities and pursue win-win outcomes. Moving forward, YRPG will stay committed to its corporate mission of "Dedicated to Exploring and Advancing, Committed to Caring for All". Leveraging its boat-fruited sterculia plantation base in Laos, YRPG will deepen China-Laos cooperation in medicine and healthcare, actively engage in local ecological projects and public welfare undertakings. Through tangible actions featuring industrial co-prosperity and joint ecological governance, the Group will advance the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Laos and continuously contribute YRPG’s strength to fostering the China-Laos Community with a Shared Future.
