Recently, the ASSM Interim Meeting 2026 jointly held with the 2026 HKSSM Annual Scientific Meeting took place in Hong Kong. The Chinese Sleep Research Society initiated and organized a series of academic activities, in which Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group (or the Group, YRPG) participated to jointly explore cutting-edge progress and innovative development within sleep medicine.
During the conference, Fazamorexant Tablets, China’s first self‑developed innovative dual orexin receptor antagonist (DORA) agent, had its relevant research findings shared and exhibited via multiple academic formats including a luncheon symposium, scientific posters and the on-site booth.
Among these sessions, the luncheon symposium was co-chaired by Professor Huang Zhili and Professor Chen Ning-Hung from Chinese Taiwan. Professor Seung-Chul Hong from South Korea delivered a featured presentation on the research advances and clinical applications of DORAs. Professor Dong Xiaosong illustrated the clinical evidence for Fazamorexant Tablets based on clinical-study data.
In addition, Phase III research findings of Fazamorexant Tablets were accepted by the conference and presented in two scientific posters. The results demonstrated that fazamorexant could improve sleep architecture in patients with insomnia without exerting a clinically significant impact on nocturnal respiratory function, and it also exhibited favorable respiratory safety in patients with mild OSA.
During the international expert roundtable session on sleep medicine, Professor Han Fang served as session chair for the academic discussion. Dr. Gu Chengming delivered remarks on behalf of the enterprise and joined the panel discussion. International experts including Professor Ahmed S. Bahammam and Professor Seung‑Chul Hong had in‑depth exchanges covering new advances in insomnia diagnosis and treatment, clinical application of DORAs, special‑patient populations and treatment scenarios, evidence‑based data, as well as future development directions.
At the Symposium on Innovative Development of Sleep Medicine, mainland‑based experts held in‑depth discussions with Hong‑Kong‑based experts including Professor Wing‑Kwong Wing. Dr. Gu Chengming participated and spoke as the corporate representative. He stated that YRPG will continue to deepen scientific‑research cooperation and innovative exploration, promote academic exchanges and discipline building within sleep medicine, and jointly explore new development pathways for sleep‑health with all stakeholders.
Sleep health constitutes an essential cornerstone of population‑wide health. Guided by clinical needs, YRPG is committed to the sleep‑health field through continuous academic exploration and exchanges, making tangible efforts to address the public’s sleep‑related health challenges. Looking ahead, YRPG will further strengthen scientific‑research innovation and international academic cooperation, and facilitate the implementation of more novel therapeutic regimens and research outcomes for sleep‑health diagnosis and treatment.
